June 1 (Saturday): Fanfare Zambeleta play Romani, Serbian, Macedonian and Greek Brass music at Live Oak Grange, 1900 - 17th Avenue, Santa Cruz at 7:00 P.M. Admission is $15.00. For more information contact Judy Donaldson.

June 1 (Saturday): Kitka and Kostroma in concert with songs, dances and rituals from rural Russia at St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, 2097 Turk Street, San Francisco from 8:00 to 10:00 P.M.

June 2 (Sunday): Israeli Oldies Folk Dance Party featuring the dances of Moshiko, led by Allen King at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley from 1:30 to 5:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00 and those under 18 are admitted free. Bring potluck snacks, drinks and requests. For more information contact Allen King.

June 2 (Sunday): The Northern California Spelmanslag host a Scandinavian Dance Party, with live music, at Hillside Community Church, 1422 Mafellier Street, El Cerrito at 7:15 P.M. Bring refreshments to share. There will also be a Scandia Dance Workshop and potluck at Fred and Toby's house, 1825 Hudson Street, El Cerrito with the Dance workshop from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. and the potluck dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. June 3 (Monday): GreekFeet host a Greek Dance Workshop with Stathis Strathis and Joe Graziosi at Joe Goode Annex, Project Artaud, 401 Alabama Street, at 17th Street, San Francisco from 7:00 to 9:30 P.M. Admission is $15.00. For more information contact Mary Ann Karonis.

June 7 (Friday): The East Bay Folk Dancers host a Balkan dance party with Da! Mozhem band at Piedmont Veteran's Hall, 401 Highland Avenue, Piedmont from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $13.00. For more information contact Kay James.

June 7 (Friday): Stanford Folk Dancers sponsors a French Country Dance Party with Gary Breitbard and Jena Rauti and the Fete Musette Ensemble at Bethany Lutheran Church, 1095 Cloud Avenue, Menlo Park. Please use the parking lot behind the Churh off Ivy Avenue instead of parking on the street. Admission is $12.00. For more information contact Owen Saxton.

June 7 (Friday): Sharon and Jordan will teach instroductory Rotary Waltz and intermediate Rotary Waltz steps and Lewis and Joy will DJ waltz and polka dancing at First United Methodist Church, upstairs, Fellowship Hall, 625 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto with the classes starting at 7:15 P.M. and the dancing is from 9:00 P.M. to Midnight. Admission is $12.00 for both classes and the dance, $10.00 for the dance only and $10.00 for students. NOTE CHANGE IN PRICES AND TIME. No partner necessary. All ages welcome. June 8 (Saturday): Forty-fifth anniversary and Farewell party for Milk Pail Market, 2585 California Street, Mountain View featuring (amoungst other things) music by Da! Mozhem from 2:30 to 4:00 P.M.

June 10 (Monday): Balkan Dance Cabal at the back studio at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley from 7:30 to 9:30 P.M. Admission is $6.00. For more information click or call Nadav Nur at (415) 497-4890.

June 14 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Helios and Blato Zlato at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

June 14 (Friday): Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble will be performing for your dining and dancing pleasure at the popular River Front Café at 224 B St. in Petaluma from 5:30 to 8 P.M. There is no cover charge. For more information contact Paul Alexander.

June 15 (Saturday): Kafana Balkan, featuring music by Inspector Gadje joined by Vlado Pupinoski from Macedonia, and DJ Zelijko at the Rickshaw Stop, 155 Fell Street, San Francisco at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $18.00 in advance or $20.00 at the door.

June 15 (Saturday): Annual Ice Cream Social and International Folk Dance Party hosted by the Palomanians at St. Bede's Church Hall, 2650 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M. Admission is $10.00. For more information and to send in requests contact Denise Heenan.

June 16 (Sunday): Palo Alto World Music Day with Da! Mozhem playing at 375 University Avenue, Palo Alto from 3:00 to 4:30 P.M. Admission is free.

June 20 (Thursday): Ripni Kalinke Lecture and Dance Workshop with Petur Iliev at 1205 Pine Avenue, San Jose with lecture on "The Development of the Bulgarian Folk Music from the 1930's to Today" from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. followed by a dance workshop from 8:00 to 10:00 P.M. June 21 (Friday): Berkeley Balkan Bacchanal with music by Fanfare Zambaleta and Melez Band at The Starry Plough, 3102 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley at 9:00 P.M. Admission is $12.00 to $15.00 on a sliding scale at the door.

June 30 (Sunday): Serbian, Kosovo, Romani and Macedonian dance workshop taught by Alex Markovic, followed by a party with Edessa and guest musicians at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Avenue, at Gilman, Berkeley with the workshop from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. and the dance party from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Admission is $20.00 for the workshop, $12.00 for the party or $25.00 for both at the door.
